Our Board of Directors

Dakota County Mutual Aid is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors responsible for helping guide the organization's mission, finances, policies, and long-term sustainability.

Our board brings together people with difference experiences and perspectives, including community organizing, nonprofit leadership, financial stewardship, and direct knowledge of the communities we serve.

Taylor Durry

Founder, Executive Director, and Board Chair

Taylor is the founder and Executive Director of Dakota County Mutual Aid. Her work began through community organizing and rapid-response efforts, where she built relationships with families, community members, nonprofits, faith communities, and other local organizations. Through those connections, she saw both the incredible willingness of neighbors to help one another and the gaps that can make it difficult for families to access support when they need it most.

Taylor founded DCMA to help bridge those gaps by connecting people directly with resources, building partnerships across the community, and creating flexible ways to respond when traditional systems are unable to meet an immediate need.

As Executive Director, Taylor leads DCMA's day-to-day work, including community partnerships, fundraising, program development, resource coordination, volunteer and community engagement, and direct support for individuals and families. She also works closely with other organizations throughout Dakota County to connect families with existing resources rather than duplicating services already available in the community.

Taylor's background as an educator and community organizer continues to shape her approach to this work. She believes strong communities are built through relationships, trust, collaboration, and making sure people closest to the problem have a voice in the solutions.

As Board Chair, Taylor works alongside the full Board of Directors to guide DCMA's mission and long-term direction. The Board provides governance and oversight of the organization, including financial accountability and oversight of the Executive Director role.

Chelsea Inskeep

Vice Chair

Chelsea has been deeply involved in local rapid response efforts during Operation Metro Surge and community building, consistently stepping up wherever support is needed. She brings a strong commitment to showing up for her neighbors and helping connect people with the care, resources, and community they need.

A helper at heart, Chelsea is always ready to jump in, whether that means responding to an immediate need, supporting a family, or helping strengthen connections within the community. As Vice Chair, she brings that same compassion, reliability, and community-centered perspective to helping guide Dakota County Mutual Aid.

Sarah Borealis

Secretary

Sarah brings extensive experience in community organizing, relationship building, and nonprofit leadership to Dakota County Mutual Aid. She has played an essential role in building and strengthening networks of helpers, organizers, and community members, creating connections that help people and resources reach one another when they are needed most.

In addition to her community organizing work, Sarah serves as Secretary for another established nonprofit, bringing valuable experience in board governance, organizational structure, and what it takes to help a nonprofit operate responsibly and effectively.

Sarah understands what it means to show up for neighbors and has spent years doing exactly that. She is excited to bring her experience, connections, and passion for community-driven work to a nonprofit and mutual aid effort closer to home. As Secretary, Sarah helps strengthen both the organizational foundation of DCMA and the community relationships at the heart of our work.

Allison Newgard

Treasurer

Allison has been part of Dakota County Mutual Aid since its earliest days, consistently finding ways to show up for her neighbors and community. During the Metro Surge, she even opened her home as a drop-off and packing location for food and hygiene supplies, helping create a place where community generosity could be turned directly into support for families who needed it.

Along with her heart for mutual aid and community building, Allie brings extensive professional expertise in accounting, bookkeeping, budgeting, and financial management. With a master's degree and an accounting background that includes experience with a major Twin Cities firm, she brings both technical knowledge and a strong attention to detail to DCMA's financial oversight.

As Treasurer, Allie brings together two things that are incredibly important to DCMA: a genuine commitment to neighbors helping neighbors and the financial expertise needed to ensure the resources entrusted to us are managed responsibly. Her leadership helps ensure that transparency, accountability, and strong financial stewardship remain at the foundation of our work.

David Snyder

Director at Large

David brings more than 30 years of experience in mutual aid, community organizing, advocacy, and nonprofit work to Dakota County Mutual Aid. Throughout his career, he has worked to build stronger communities, develop networks, and connect people and organizations around shared goals.

David is also an adjunct faculty member at the University of Minnesota School of Social Work and teaches in Metropolitan State University's Advocacy and Political Leadership program, bringing decades of real-world community experience into his work with future leaders and organizers.

As a Director at Large, David brings invaluable experience in community organizing, nonprofit development, relationship building, and collaboration. His extensive network and deep knowledge of the nonprofit and advocacy landscape help DCMA build meaningful partnerships, connect with organizations doing complementary work, and make sure DCMA has a seat at the table in larger community conversations.

David's combination of experience, relationships, and commitment to community-driven work helps DCMA expand our reach while staying grounded in the mutual aid values at the heart of the organization.

Ann Petersen

Director at Large

Ann brings a strong background in building organizations, developing community networks, and helping new initiatives grow from an idea into something sustainable. She understands both the relationships and behind-the-scenes infrastructure needed to turn grassroots efforts into lasting community resources.

She also brings valuable experience in technology, cybersecurity, and digital safety. That expertise is especially important to DCMA as we work with individuals and families who may be in vulnerable situations. Ann helps us think intentionally about how we collect, store, and protect information while building systems that prioritize the privacy and safety of the people who trust us.

Ann is also pursuing her law degree with the goal of using her legal education to further serve and advocate for her community. At the heart of everything she does is a deep commitment to mutual aid and helping people.

As a Director at Large, Ann brings together her ability to build, connect people, solve problems, and strengthen organizational systems. Her combination of community experience, technical knowledge, and commitment to service helps DCMA grow thoughtfully while keeping the safety, privacy, and dignity of our community at the center of our work.

José del Bosque

Director at Large

José is an essential part of Dakota County Mutual Aid, bringing deep community knowledge, extensive relationships, and an understanding of the experiences and challenges facing many of the communities we work alongside.

Through his work with multiple community organizations and mutual aid efforts, José has helped connect organizations, resources, and neighbors to one another. He has built trusted relationships throughout the community and understands that meaningful support starts with listening to the people who are directly impacted.

As a Director at Large, José brings an important community-centered lens to the Board and helps ensure the voices, experiences, and priorities of the people we serve remain at the forefront of DCMA's decision-making.

His ability to build trust, bring people together, and turn community connections into meaningful support embodies what mutual aid is all about, and we are incredibly grateful to have his voice at the table.
