Look What You Did!

We heard about a community that urgently needed water and food today, and within just a few hours this group showed up in the most incredible way. Together, we raised over $900 and were able to immediately turn that into water and food for families who needed it.

The person coordinating everything on the ground was moved to tears. He shared how hard the past months have been on his Latino community and how overwhelming it has felt trying to keep up with the need. They had previously been partnered with a church that, because of everything going on, hasn’t been able to provide food anymore. They also get some support from The Open Door, but we were able to supplement what families receive so it wasn’t just mostly soon-to-expire produce, and instead included real staples people can actually build meals around.

I wish I could show you the faces, the families, the relief, but for safety and dignity reasons, I can’t. What I can tell you is that this made a very real, very meaningful difference for a lot of people.

I’m still seeing DMs come in from people who have water they want to donate. If that’s you, please reach out and I’m happy to send the drop-off address. This need isn’t going away anytime soon, and every case of water truly helps.

Thank you for showing up so quickly. Thank you for trusting this work. Thank you for caring about your neighbors. This is what community looks like.
