I wanted to share a couple of community needs in case anyone has connections, resources, or is able to help.

Recently, we worked with a mom of three who had received an eviction notice after asking for assistance. We were able to advocate with the landlord, negotiate the situation, and help secure a new one-year lease so her children do not have to lose their home or change schools. It was a huge relief for the family.

Now we are trying to support the next urgent need. Her daughter has experienced significant trauma, and the family is looking for a Spanish-speaking therapist or psychologist who accepts state insurance. We are already calling around, but sometimes this community is able to find connections and solutions faster when we work together. If anyone has recommendations, connections, or knows of providers with openings, please reach out.

We are also supporting another local family after Germán and Henry were detained by ICE following an immigration appointment. They had been told there was good news and that they would be able to have the electronic ankle monitors they had been wearing removed. They had been attending their appointments and complying with the process, but when they arrived, they were instead detained. Their family is now fighting to keep them home and continue their asylum case together.

A trusted legal team has already been selected and is actively working on the case, and we have been helping coordinate support around the family. They have received a significant discount on legal fees, but the retainer and ongoing costs are still substantial. We are currently trying to help them raise enough funds to begin payment plans and continue the legal work needed to keep this family together.
